What Next?

Is this chameleon jewellery the most impressive wearable tech yet?

If you’re a person who can never decide what to wear, Algara will be the wardrobe companion you never knew you needed. When you buy Algara, you receive a White Jade stone with the app that can be used as a necklace, bracelet or hairpin. The stone itself changes to suit whatever colour is set via the app. To do so, the user just has to take a photo of the colour they’d like the stone to be, and the app will correspondingly change it. Suddenly the reality of customisable clothing seems not quite so implausible.

This Back to the Future invention you’ve always wanted finally exists

Once the stuff of science fiction myth, the legend of the hover board has captivated people for decades. Thanks to Lexus, that myth is now very much reality. As part of its Amazing in Motion content series, the automaker released a short teaser clip of the invention in use. While the video conveniently omits any details about the how the board works, whether it can be actually ridden, or if it will ever be released to the public, we’re still incredibly excited by it. Take a closer look at the hover board here:

App of the Week

The incredible app that knows what you should wear before you do

Meet Mona. She’s the brainchild of former employees that have come up with an ingenious plan to put a personal shopper into your pocket. Mona goes beyond apps that provide recommendations, by scouring online stores for products that meet a specific criteria in advance. Better yet, the app improves over time, using your data to personalise its tips and find you the perfect threads. Personally, we can’t wait to get to know her.

In the realm of self-driving cars, we’re already seeing Google laying out plans to put autonomous vehicles on the roads in the coming months. Even more significantly, Singapore is about to authorise an on-demand, driverless taxi system for all public roads. Initially the service will only go to one district of the city, but it is expected that the program roll out nationwide within a year.
