What’s got everybody yawning?

Sleepy morning commuters at a São Paulo subway station didn’t stand a chance against this billboard. The interactive sign featured a giant face which would yawn when commuters approached the sign and motion sensors were set off. Yawning being as contagious as it is, this naturally triggered a yawning epidemic on the platform. Enter the mastermind behind the stunt – Brazilian coffee brand Café Pelé – to wake everybody up with product samples for all.

How to tell cars to keep their distance

Volkswagen has launched an interactive bus back ad to demonstrate how the car brand’s Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) technology benefits drivers on the road. In addition to providing a distance reading, the ad displayed a warning cautioning drivers about the risk of collision when their cars got too close to the bus. Great initiative by the car manufacturer – check it out:

Mad Men Integrated is a spoof Tumblr site parodying Don Draper and the Sterling Cooper team. The website portrays characters from the hit TV series and how they would deal with advertising agency life in the digital age via a series of animated GIFs. No one knows who created the site (yet), but to whoever is responsible, bravo.

This film projecting pizza box could replace your Netflix account

Thanks to Pizza Hut, pizza and a movie no longer requires multiple actions – just order your pizza and the box in which it is housed projects your movie. Dubbed the Blockbuster Box, it comes in four different options – romance, action, sci-fi and horror. This seriously cool campaign is currently exclusive to residents of Hong Kong, but with the innovation proving to be a success, it’s likely to see global action shortly.

In an effort to provide abused children a safe way to reach out for help, a Spanish organisation created an ad that displays a different message for adults and children at the same time. The secret behind the ad’s wizardry is a lenticular layer, which shows different images at varying angles. Anyone taller than the average 10 year old sees a normal awareness message, while children see a message offering help directly. Very clever, check it out:

Runners of the world, Spotify has an update just for you. The music streaming app is adding a special mode for running that plays music that syncs up to the pace of your run. Spotify Running works in unison with your smartphones built in accelerometer to detect your current running pace and moving patterns. To think, just a few years ago running with music meant hoping your Discman didn’t skip.
