OndAzul, an environmental not-for-profit organisation, are sharing devastating facts about our environment around the world via Snapchat. With the instant messaging app edging out Facebook and Instagram as the hottest communication platform for teens, the campaign effectively tells the audience about how much damage we are currently inflicting on our planet. “If we are talking about the future, we must talk to [young people] first,” explains the brain behind the campaign, Philippe Lacerda. “Teens more than anyone need to be aware of what’s happening in our world. And maybe someday they can do something to change it.” The vanishing factoids generate conversation about increasingly important environment issues, while connecting with teens on their own level. The 10-second high quality content is created by combining Snapchat with SnapRoll, an app that allows any photos or videos to be sent through Snapchat.
