Philips and Accenture have collaborated to propose one of the first applications of Google Glass to the healthcare sector.
By linking real time data from Philips Intellivue patient monitors to the Google Glass display, doctors would be able to wirelessly receive vital patient data via Glass.
It’s suggested that the wearable technology would provide doctors with improved mobility and an increased focus on the patient, as they would not have to look away from the operating table to check vital signs. The technology would also enable doctors to obtain pre-surgery data on their way to the operating room.
Although more work on efficacy and accuracy is required to meet regulatory requirements, it’s an exciting development in the future of healthcare.
Watch the proof of concept video below to see how it would work.
