Fashion is as fickle as the weather. Which is why French online fashion retailer La Redoute created a dynamic campaign that enabled them to advertise clothing corresponding to the weather outside.

By fitting outdoor screens with temperature and rain gauges, the live weather billboards sensed changes in the climate and displayed the conditions in real-time on the screens.

Dressed in the latest looks from the La Redoute catalogue, the model’s outfit was updated in real-time, to reflect the current conditions in the city.

Virgin Mobile’s BlinkWashing skips the ad when you blink

Created for their ‘Retrain Your Brain’ campaign, Virgin Mobile USA uses webcam technology in their latest ad, to change scenes in the video whenever the viewer blinks.

Simply go to their YouTube channel, allow webcam permissions and calibrate your blinks for recognition. Then, enjoy as much as the eye can see.

There’s a series of 25 different scenes to view, but don’t blink unless you want to skip! The video will flick to the next scene when it registers a blink.

Your experience might be a little wobbly and laggy at first, but after a few times it becomes more accurate. The tech works even if you’re wearing glasses, but make sure there’s plenty of light for you to be seen, and don’t move your head after calibration.

Have a go, it’s an interesting experience!

Turn sketches into app prototypes with AppSeed

AppSeed is a great new Kickstarter project that aims to quickly transform app ideas from sketches into working prototypes.

Currently a prototype itself, the app allows you to take pictures of your sketches and add functionality to the elements within your design. It does this by recognising that certain shapes are likely to perform a specific range of functions (e.g. a long rectangle is often a button), and then lets you select from multiple options what you want that area to do.

Do you want to make parenting easier or are you trying to get pregnant? BleepBleeps is a series of connected devices that can help you get pregnant, look after your baby and raise your child.

This series of cute devices in a range of colours and characters are designed to connect with your smartphone allowing you to track and monitor your child’s well being as well as your ability to get pregnant.

The first device to be released is Tony Tempa, an ear thermometer that takes your child’s temperature and then sends the results to the app on your phone. The app allows you to track multiple people and provide advice on how to control body temperature.

There’s a number of other devices available for baby monitoring and fertility testing, and while these are yet to be released (currently undergoing beta testing), they definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
