AIMIA is one of the leading industry associations for digital in Australia. ADMA (keeping those ‘A’ acronyms going), the Association of Data-Driven Marketing and Advertising, took over stewardship of AIMIA a few months back.
AIMIA’s ‘AMY’ Awards are one of the longest running and most prestigious digital awards shows in the country (this was the 22nd year of the awards), and the latest AMYs just took place.
Once again, the agency did extraordinarily well, against a field of the top digital agencies from across the nation. We had FIVE Finalists in FOUR categories (with two Finalists in one category). So I settled in for a night of high expectation.
The AMYs celebrate digital brilliance, with categories often going unawarded, meaning winning is tough. So I’m absolutely delighted to report that QUT’s 15 Megapixels of Fame won in the Best Digital Advertising or Communication, in the Learning and Education category, as well as being a Finalist in the Best Use of Social Media/Content category. Global Goggles (which we also developed for QUT) was awarded a Highly Commended in the Best Digital Advertising or Communication (Learning and Ed), to round out a 1-2 finish for the agency.
Unfortunately, our Reduce Your Juice project for CitySmart narrowly missed out in two categories within the Best Use of Smartphone and Tablet – personally, I was very surprised not to snare a gong for this amazingly innovative approach to saving energy.
Overall it was an amazing night for the agency, competing against and beating some of the top digital agencies nationally. Thanks to everyone who put in blood, sweat and pixels to make these projects the best they could be and our amazing partners – our clients, who show great faith to go on the journey with us.
Until next year…
