Star in Star Wars

by Laura Casey on 22 May 2014

Ever wanted to share some screen time with Darth Vader, R2-D2 or Chewbacca? Well now’s your chance!

In a special message released from the set of the new Star Wars movie, director J.J. Abrams announced the creation of Stars Wars: Force for Change. This brand new initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm is dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The campaign aims to raise funds and awareness for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs and its various projects designed to benefit children in desperate need.

In support of the launch, Disney has committed $1 million and fans can now donate too with the added incentive of being cast in Star Wars: Episode VII.  By pledging as little as $10 through the Omaze fundraising platform, any eligible supporter will go in the draw for a chance to win a once in a life time experience.

The grand prize includes flights, accommodation, behind the scenes access as a VIP guest of J.J. Abrams, the opportunity to meet members of the cast, and the ultimate prize of being transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and appearing in the film. As always, there are rules and restrictions with the competition, but who wouldn’t want to have the hope, all but small, of starring in such a hugely popular film franchise!?

Personally, I think this is amazing, because not only are you donating to a very worthy cause, you potentially have the opportunity to be IN FREAKIN’ STAR WARS. Will you be entering?

What a great way to raise millions at light speed. I know it's going to be an awesome movie and the only thing that could possibly make it better is having me in it as a wookie.
