If The Shoe Fits

Every girl grows up dreaming of becoming a Princess, wishing to meet her Prince Charming and live happily ever after (castle, singing birds, jewels and glass slippers to match). Thankfully this reality isn’t so far, far away…

To celebrate the premiere of its new live action film Cinderella, Disney called upon nine luxury brands to re-design the famed glass slipper. The resulting collection was unveiled last Friday during the Berlin Film Festival, at the Cinderella Exhibit presented by Swarovski.


From Swarovski-adorned to Perspex, the fictional shoe has been reimagined in a range of ways by designers including Nicholas Kirkwood, Jimmy Choo, Charlotte Olympia, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jerome Rousseau, Stuart Weitzman, Paul Andrew, Alexandre Birman, and Rene Caovilla.

And the best part? The collection will go on sale at high-end retailers around the world including Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, and Galeries Lafayette in Paris offering fans the opportunity to have their very own Cinderella moment.


No word on the price tags yet, but I’m left with some serious shoe lust. So, I guess it’s time I start mentally preparing for the disappointment that’s sure to come with not being able to drop some serious cash on these beauties… or look at finding a second job to afford a pair!

Great post Laura. A lovely idea given huge amplification by associating with such big names. As for you picking up a pair....I'd wait until Aldi has done a knock off for $19.95 for the pair!
