What a great night at the AIMIA Awards last night for the agency. We had Finalists in no less than 9 categories, up against the best of the best digital shops and work from around Australia, this is no mean feat. Projects for Sunny Queen, QUT, ACCI, and the Federal Government’s Department of Health & Ageing were all Finalists, testament to our clients’ belief in us and our standing as one of the top digital-thinking agencies around Australia.
Here’s how the night went:
DoHA Quit for You. Quit for Two App is first up and comes very close in the Smartphone – Learning and Education category.
Canape, Yakatori skewers, delicious.
Fight way through crowds for a bathroom visit – too much beer.
ACCI is up for two awards relating to the campaign’s use of social media, unfortunately not quite getting over the line this time. Really unlucky considering how effective the campaign was for our client.
Playschool App wins Best of Tablet, my daughter will be pleased, some humpty collects the award!
Drum roll please, the announcement of Most Effective Digital Product or Service category – and the winner is ChookTracker. Whoop, whoop! Cracking win for our client Sunny Queen Farms. A leap onto the stage with delight is followed by a very large and heavy trophy being thrust into my grasp.
Back to the table.
However, before we know it, we are back up again, this time in the category of Best Digital Advertising or Communication (Retail and e-Commerce). Number two for Sunny Queen. How eggciting.
Back to the table, if we carry on like this we are going to need a bigger table.
Free gelato. Mixing with the above not highly recommended.
Last up, our Open Day project for QUT, misses out in the Platform Innovation category by the thickness of a whisker from a grumpy cat, to Skittles’ Telekinize the Rainbow. So close, but still, being a Finalist was great recognition for such an innovative solution.
Night begins to blur from here on in, possibly leading me full circle to the title of this blog.
Congrats again to all BCMers that worked on these amazing projects and, of course, thanks to our clients for going on the ride with us. Particular thanks to guys at Sunny Queen for always being up for new ideas.
Very much looking forward to next year.
